TurboPS/300 delivers PostScript-compatible laser printing up to 15 timesfaster than competitive PostScript laser printers. It is the only 300 x300 dpi laser printer that may be upgraded to 600 x 300 dpi. TurboPS/300has a proprietary dual processor design that incorporates an Intel 20 MHz80960 RISC processor as well as an Intel 80186 I/O coprocessor. It isdesigned for desktop publishing; in-house publishing; and documentation,newsletters, and font-intensive documents.Besides PostScript compatibility, TurboPS/300 offers HP LaserJet SeriesII, HP 7475 (HPGL) Plotter, and Epson LQ-800 emulations. It uses theCanon SX engine, which is also used in HP LaserJet Series II and III, andthe Apple LaserWriter IINT and IINTX. 2-MB of memory are standard, andmay be upgraded to 5 MB, in 1-MB increments. Adding memory provides moreroom for downloading fonts and for double-page buffering. With double-page buffering, as one page is being printed, the next page is beingprocessed, increasing speed up to 25 percent on multipage documents. Formore font storage, a SCSI hard disk can be attached to the printerthrough its optional SCSI interface.
